Personalisation means thinking about care and support services in an entirely different way; starting with the person as an inidividual with strengths, preferences and aspirations and putting them at the centre of the process of identifying their needs and making choices about how and when they are supported to live their lives.
Personalisation represents one of the most radical cultural shifts of recent times and means rethinking not only what we do, but why we do it and who should do it. It requires true collaborative and partnership working.
AKD have collaborated with POhWER, to benefit from their expertise in the field of advocacy to incorporate the experiences, insights and voices of the service user to this training tool.
Make it Personal marks a fresh approach to training in this subject and will develop not only a greater understanding of all aspects of personalisation but generate dialogue, with learners challenging themselves and each other.
Make it Personal is licensed product and trainers must attend a one day training the trainers session to become an authorised user.
